Flapjack

5 oz margarine
3 oz demerara sugar
1 level tablespoon golden syrup
12 oz porridge oats

Brush a 7 inch square tin with a little melted fat.
Melt the margarine in a pan over a low heat.
Remove from heat and stir in sugar, syrup and oats.
Turn into the tin and level with a pallette knife.
Bake on the centre shelf at Gas Mark 5 (190) for 25-30 minutes.
