Easy Fruitcake

12oz Mixed fruit (raisins, sultanas, currants, peel)
4oz sugar
4oz margarine
1/4 pint of water
1 egg
8oz self raising flour

Place fruit, sugar, margarine and water in pan.
Simmer slowly for 20 minutes.
Allow to cool then add beaten egg and stir in flour.
Turn into a greased 6 inch tin or casserole dish.
Bake at 160C (Gas mark 3) for 1 and a half hours.
